Hills Basketball Carnival for students with an intellectual disability

Our SSWA Para Sports Coordinator Lorraine Feddema attend the Hills Basketball Carnival last for students with an intellectual disabilities.

There was 26 teams from 12 Ed Support schools who participated in the Hills Basketball Carnival on Tuesday 9th May. A great day that was well organised by Chris Saligari from Kalamunda Senior High School Ed Support Centre. Students had so much fun and enjoyed some tough competition, even though the finals’ results were one-sided.

Schools with Ed Support Centres that attended were; Armadale, Atwell, Canning Vale, Cannington, Cyril Jackson, Dianella, Durham Road, Eastern Hills, Kalamunda, Kensington, Kenwick and Leeming.

Winners;

Division 1 – Cannington 1 d Atwell 1 (24 – 7)

Division 2 – Armadale 2 d Canning Vale 1 (16 – 4)

Division 3 – Canning Vale 2 d Kenwick 2 (20 – 6)

Congratulations to all staff and students for the way the carnival was run to time and students were given the opportunity to participate with enthusiastic help from carers and officials. The smiles on the faces of the students throughout the day was a reward in itself.
