2020 Champions Cup and School Slam Series

Now in its 17^th year, the School Slam Series is a 1-day basketball carnival played throughout WA. School teams play at a local basketball venue against other schools from within their catchment area.

The focus of the School Slam Series is to promote basketball participation in a fun and safe environment, promote local sporting facilities and Associations and provide a pathway for students and teachers to participate in the sport.

The School Slam Series is targeted towards primary school students in Years 3 to 6.

Basketball WA, in partnership with the SEDA basketball program, manages all elements of the carnivals, including officiating, resulting in a stress free environment for the teachers and schools participating.

For the more competitive schools, the Champions Cup provides an opportunity for the top teams from across the State to compete in a 1-day basketball tournament.

Schools are able to register across two levels of competitions:

All Stars Division – For Years 5/6 teams.

Future Stars Division – For Years 3/4 teams.

The competition uses modified rules to allow for maximum participation, enjoyment and skills development.

Due to COVID-19 there may be restrictions on the numbers of teams permitted.  This will generally be done on a first come, first served basis, with priority this year being given to All Stars Teams.

Schools will be invited by Basketball WA to compete in the Champions Cup based on performances and attitude during the School Slam Series.  Further information will be provided directly to these schools prior to the Champions Cup

(Schools are advised to nominate early as there may be team limits for divisions]

Please take care nominating your teams.  If the fixtures have been released and schools decide to withdraw teams the nomination fee may still be invoiced.
