AFL 15s Girls Travelling Team and Development Squad announced

Thank you to all of the girls who have trained with the State 15s Squad so far this year. It has been the first time that we have kept such a big squad together for so long and from our point of view, it has been a big success. It has been the hardest year of selections since the State 15s Program started and this is a credit to all of the players and their families and friends who have committed to our State Program over the past 6 or so weeks. Not only has 2018 seen the most number of nominations for the State 15s Program, it has also seen the most even spread of talent across such a big group. The Coaching Staff were thrilled with the talent, energy and commitment shown by all girls. Well done to all players on what you have achieved during our time together.

Congratulations if you made the final travelling squad for 2018. Remember, if you did not make the squad, this is not a reflection on you personally, nor is it an indication that you are not a strong footballer. You are all talented footballers and no matter whether you have been selected in this squad or not, you have a bright future and selection in this squad does not guarantee future success, nor does not being selected prevent future success.

Congratulations to the following students who have been selected in the 2018 State 15s Female AFL Teams who will be taking part in a National Carnival in Adelaide, South Australia in JULY.

Development Squad

Congratulations also to the following girls who have been invited to stay on with the squad to be involved in our Development Squad for 2018. The order below is alphabetical and does not represent the order that players will potentially come into the team, should there be an injury or illness. The Development Squad is a group of players that could come into the travelling squad if there is injury, however it is also a group of players that we believe will benefit from continuing to train in a high performance setting.

For those girls who have missed out on our Travelling Squad and our/or Development Squad, commiserations. You are clearly a talented footballer and we wish you well with your football this year and into the future. If you are eligible to come back to our 15s Program next year, we look forward to seeing you in 2019. Please DO NOT call for feedback as being teachers, we are often unable to access our phone. Please email one of us if you would like feedback and we will get back to you ASAP.

A reminder to all team members (Travelling Squad and Development Squad) that the next scheduled training session will be at All Saints’ College from 4:00pm (pre-session activities start at 3:40pm) to 6:00pm on Monday 14 May.

Please also be aware that Monday 14 May will be our Uniform Fitting afternoon and our Parent Information Evening for our travelling squad players only. We are hoping to start the Uniform Fitting at 3:30pm for those who can make it. Our Parent Information Evening will be at about 6:30pm till about 8:00pm, however more details will be emailed through to the travelling squad players about both of these events. Dinner will be provided for all of the travelling squad players on this evening. Development Squad players are expected to attend training, but are not expected at the Uniform Fitting or the Parent Information Evening.
