SHS Country Week starts on Monday

School Sport Western Australia would like to advise that the 89th Senior High Schools Country Week will be staged in Perth commencing on Monday June 26.
 
Over the week there will be 14 individual sporting competitions with 320 teams participating in 45 divisions involving over 1000 separate sporting contests. The event runs for five days commencing on Monday and culminating with finals in all grades on Friday.
 
Sports offered include Australian Rules Football, Netball, Hockey, Basketball, Touch Football, Volleyball, and Soccer. There are over 3300 students competing in the 2017 event. As well as sporting events there are 18 schools competing in a Speech and Debating competition and 12 schools involved in Dance completion during the week.
 
There are 48 schools from all over the state attending the event. Teams travel from as far away as Broome, Christmas Island, Esperance and Kalgoorlie.
 
The event will commence at HBF Stadium Arena 1 at 8:30am on Monday.  The Closing Ceremony is also held at HBF Stadium on Friday 30 June at 1pm.
